Advancement Administration

	Kelly Kannwischer Vice President for University Advancement President, Vanguard University Foundation 714.966.5451 kelly.kannwischer@vanguard.edu Kelly is responsible for University Advancement and creating awareness, building relationships and generating support for Vanguard University. This is accomplished through deliberate efforts that incorporate strategic communications/marketing, alumni relations, community and government relations, development and resource planning and administration. Kelly oversees staff on the first floor of Smith Hall—including Alumni Relations, Database and Marketing/Communications.
	Sarah Jay Sr. Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for University Advancement 714.966.5450 sarah.jay@vanguard.edu Sarah supports the Vice President and the department through scheduling, correspondence and reports, budget supervision, and coordination of meetings and tasks related to the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board.

Development Team

	Justin McIntee Associate Vice President for Development and Campaign Management 714.966.5440 justin.mcintee@vanguard.edu Justin provides leadership to the Development Team, including fundraising management and campaign direction. He works closely with volunteers, including the Foundation Board of Directors, to secure philanthropic support for the university. Justin is a Vanguard University alumnus.
	Jennifer Smith Director of Annual Fund 714.966.5461 jennifer.j.smith@vanguard.edu Jennifer directs stewardship for the university. She leads all Annual Fund direct mail, phone, and e-solicitation activities. She connects individuals, businesses and corporations to opportunities to further the mission of Vanguard through The Vanguard University Fund.
	Brent Theobald Director of Major Gifts 714.966.5447 brent.theobald@vanguard.edu Brent provides leadership in the Veterans Center, including recruiting students, cultivating donor support, and identifying new ways that Vanguard can better serve the veteran population. He also serves as the primary contact with elected officials and civic organizations. Brent is a veteran of the marine corps and a Vanguard University alumnus.
	Garen Smith Campaign Director 714.966.5459 garen.smith@vanguard.edu Garen provides leadership for the Scott Campaign as part of the Development team. She works with Community Counselling Services LLC (CCS) and has joined the Vanguard team as a consultant.
	Lindsay Bodwell Administrative Assistant | Office of Development 714.966.5458 lindsay.bodwell@vanguard.edu Lindsay provides administrative support to the Development Office, specifically assisting capital campaign efforts. She manages donor communication, campaign tracking, and office management.
	May Pon Database Administrator 714.966.5442 mpon@vanguard.edu May oversees the daily operation of the database, which tracks contributions and identities. She is responsible for data input/output, technology management, and generating financial and analytical reports. She supports the work of the Advancement team and alumni and serves as a liaison to the Business Services Office.
	Kristine Fray Database Recorder 714.966.5443 kristine.fray@vanguard.edu Kristine supports the database through gift receiving and data entry, including updating contact information and generating donation receipts. She also maintains endowment records and the database filing system.

Alumni and University Relations Team

	Joel Gackle Director of Alumni and University Relations 714.966.5462 joel.gackle@vanguard.edu Joel is responsible for cultivating relationships with alumni, churches, and employers. His role is to connect members from both inside and outside the university to the mission of Vanguard. Joel is tasked with increasing involvement with the university, both in giving and participation. He supervises the management of the alumni online community, contributes to the Vanguard magazine, and manages Career Services. Joel is a Vanguard University alumnus.
	Heather Clements Assistant Director of Alumni Relations 714.966.5445 hclements@vanguard.edu Heather works alongside Joel Gackle in cultivating relationships with alumni and increasing their involvement with the university. Heather is a Vanguard University alumna.
	David Gable Director of Church Relations 714.966.5446 david.gable@vanguard.edu David serves to strengthen the University’s connection with and service to local churches. David has previously served as an Assemblies of God pastor, Assistant Superintendent for the Southern California District, and adjunct professor at Vanguard.
	Anita Hann Church Relations Coordinator 714.966.5449 ahann@vanguard.edu Anita supports the Church Relations by leading Vanguard’s presence at Youth Convention, Fine Arts, and through the district and general council meetings. She also serves churches that participate in the church scholarship program through communication, support, and stewardship. Anita is a Vanguard University alumna.
	Lauren Riddle Administrative Assistant | Office of University Advancement 714.966.5464 lauren.riddle@vanguard.edu Lauren provides administrative support to the Advancement and University Relations teams and welcomes visitors to the department as the front desk receptionist. Lauren is a Vanguard University alumna.

University Events Team

Juls Hernandez Associate Director of University Events 714.966.5448 julie.hernandez@vanguard.edu Juls provides leadership for the planning and marketing of university-wide events such as Christmas Fantasia, Celebration of the Arts, and Commencement. Juls also supports functions related to donor appreciation and the marketing of conferences, seminars, and lectures offered by the University.

Chelsea Belardo Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator 714.966.5444 cbelardo@vanguard.edu Chelsea provides support to university events through event planning, public relations and marketing, donor relations, logistics, and data support. Events include Family Weekend, Christmas Fantasia, Homecoming, Celebration of the Arts (COTA), and Commencement. Chelsea also maintains the organizational structure, standards of service, and staffing of the Volunteer Program. Chelsea is a Vanguard University alumna.

Marketing and Communications Team

	Shana Martin Director of Communications 714.966.5455 shana.martin@vanguard.edu As the primary Communications Officer for the university, Shana oversees all marketing and communications activity. She is responsible for creating, coordinating, monitoring, and distributing communications to and from internal and external stakeholders in an effective, relevant manner that is aligned with Vanguard’s overall brand strategy.
	Erin Hales Associate Director of Marketing and Communications 714.966.5452 erin.hales@vanguard.edu Erin manages the development and production for all the marketing and communication activities that support and promote the University and its various departments and offices, including overseeing the development of all marketing materials and advertising. Erin helps guide the University and department projects from inception to completion, communicating with University staff, faculty, and administrators, and interfacing with vendors to ensure the deliverables of each project are on time, on budget, meet project goals, and adhere to University standards. Erin is a Vanguard University alumna.
	Tawny Marcus Associate Creative Director 714.966.5453 tmarcus@vanguard.edu Tawny is responsible for the creative direction, graphic design and execution for all marketing materials for Vanguard University. Tawny implements the institutional design into electronic, print and other applications and manages and designs the creative product for a variety of marketing materials for each department all while adhering to University standards.
	Holly Clinard Associate Director of Marketing and Digital Media 714.966.5456 holly.clinard@vanguard.edu Holly manages leadership in the areas of social media marketing, website content management, e-newsletter campaigns, and video production. She manages the university blogs, and PR efforts to promote Vanguard University’s on & off-campus events. Holly runs the university’s Facebook and Twitter, cultivating community and awareness on all social media fronts.
	Candice Co Graphic Designer 714.966.5463 candice.co@vanguard.edu Candice provides graphic design support to the office of marketing and communications, and university projects.
