Athletics
Designed to be the hub of Vanguard Athletics, the Freed Center will be dedicated to the physical, spiritual, and relational development of more than 400 student-athletes. The 60,000-square-foot space features seating for nearly 2,000 fans, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a weight room, and an athletic training room.
Academics
The Freed Center will house Vanguard’s growing Kinesiology program, preparing students for a variety of health, fitness, or sports industry professions or graduate school. Interactive labs, classrooms, workstations, and study spaces will be used across academic disciplines, adding dynamic and flexible spaces for learning at Vanguard.
Community
The Freed Center for Leadership and Service will be a bustling source of pride for the entire Vanguard community that will deepen school spirit for all Lions. Freed will be a place where students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the local community will gather in camaraderie during sports games, chapels, worship gatherings, and summer youth camps.

The Freed Center for Leadership and Service combines the kinetic with the intellectual as it centralizes Lions Athletics and the Kinesiology program. Our more than 400 student-athletes now have dedicated spaces for exercise, physiotherapy, and competition. Our Kinesiology majors have two leading-edge labs to hone their skills as they prepare to be healers in one of the nation’s fastest growing professions. And all our VU students now have five technology-forward classrooms to be educated by our amazing faculty. The Freed Center is 61,000 square-feet of multipurpose use.
