Prayer Walking Vanguard University

The self-guided Prayer Walk, created by the Office of Alumni, is designed to intercede for and uplift our campus community through intentional prayer. This reflective journey encompasses several campus locations–some new and some old–each paired with specific Scripture and prayer prompts. By praying over different spots on campus, participants can contribute to enriching the spiritual environment for students, faculty, and staff.

The prayer walk was a featured element at Family Day. “It was beautiful to see our families joining together in prayer throughout the day across campus,” said Ally Reed ’12, assistant director of student engagement. “Getting the opportunity to intentionally invite our families into this initiative was a reminder of the meaningful work we do at Vanguard. God’s love and compassion was on full display that day!”

Pray On Campus or From Home

Using a campus map in conjunction with prompts and Scripture readings (available in both English and Spanish), participants can pray for our students while experiencing the beautiful Vanguard University campus. “Many alumni haven’t been to campus since we added the Waugh Student Center or the Freed Center for Leadership and Service,” said Heather (Rachels ’02) Clements, director of alumni, “and this prayer walk will give them a way to see some of the amazing changes to campus while covering our students in prayer.”

For those not able to travel to campus, prayer prompts and Scripture readings are available online, and they can be downloaded and printed for convenience.
