Giving Day 2025 Strengthens Support for Scholarships, Athletics, and Academics

Vanguard University’s sixth annual Giving Day took place on November 6, 2025, continuing a tradition of community-wide generosity in support of student success. This year’s event raised $634,713, bringing the total raised since its inception to $2,718,773. Giving Day mobilizes alumni, families, faculty, staff, and friends to invest in scholarships, academic programs, athletics, student research, and more with a direct impact on Vanguard students.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible response to Vanguard Giving Day 2025,” said Jeff Bussell, director of athletics. “Above all, this day is a reminder of God’s faithfulness to Vanguard University and to our student-athletes. Through the generosity of our alumni, families, and friends, we can provide meaningful opportunities that shape young men and women to compete with excellence, grow in character, and live out their God-given purpose.”
Across campus, Giving Day support is opening doors for students to pursue transformational experiences. In the sciences, Vanguard biology students received funding to present at prestigious national conferences.

“Giving Day support enables our biology students to attend and present their experimental
research at national scientific conferences,” said Roxanna Ochoa, PhD, chair of the Department of Biology. “The investment in our students is already producing life-changing results—one participant recently landed a highly sought-after internship with a top biotechnology company after a conference interview.”
Vanguard Giving Day 2026 will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
